I've been very naughty lately. I've hit the shops more often than I originally intended to and I did find some really pretty things that I want to show you. With the current A/W trends being what they are, I can't help but shop compulsively at present. I mean, I've always been a lover of metallics, faux fur and leather, so how can I refrain from putting things in my imaginary cart when the shops are brimming with my staple pieces? You should try and explain that to me!
The items below are just a few of my recent buys - I told you, I've been a bad girl.. - but I promise to show you some more later on this week.
Gold and Silver Scarf, 2.99 each from Shana
I'm still hunting from a non-tacky and reasonably priced metallic blazer or sweater, but in the meantime, I decided to grab myself these two metallic scarves. I believe they are a subtle way of introducing some metallics to a plain outfit. Like I told in my metallics post a few days ago, scarves are a great way to work your way up a trend. They're also a great way to sport a trend when all other items pertaining to the same trend retail at extravagant prices!
Skull Scarf, 8.99 from Tally Weijl & Animal Print Umbrella, 2.99 from Shana
Praise the Lord, I now own a skull scarf. Since I'm really growing fond of Alexander McQueen lately, I felt the urge to purchase a skull scarf to honour the great designer. Yet, since I can't splurge on a real one as yet, I had to take a different path. I would never even dare strolling down the 'knock-off' path, I don't mind others doing it, but I won't be caught dead doing it myself. This scarf from Tally Weijl is very similar to McQueen's, but is different nonetheless. Unlike the McQueen scarf, this one is rectangular and not squared. It also has those card symbols (what are they called, illuminate me!) which the original McQueen lacks. So YAY for the scarf! From Shana, I bought this feisty animal print umbrella because I can never have too many umbrellas!
Chunky Knit Scarf, 1.00 from Orsay
You might remember me raving about the warehouse sale organised in Fgura during the Summer. Well it's over, sadly. This chunky knit scarf from the same sale was an absolute bargain! It's so warm and big and cuddly. I could go on forever adding Winter-associated adjectives to describe this scarf, but I won't. I just wanted to show it to you to make you aware that Warehouse Sales do have good pieces every once in a while, so please give them a chance! You might go in and hate everything, or it could be love at first sight!
Star Top, 4.99 from Shana
I'm not that keen on the entire star trend going on at the moment, but I'm willing to give it a try. Seeing that I'm wary about it, I didn't want to spend a fortune on a starry item. This is why I bought this top from Shana, cheap and understated!
Faux Fur Stole, H&M
I have a few friends, but the few I have are amazing! My friend heard me saying that I wanted a fur stole and that I saw the perfect one at H&M. Since we have no H&M here in Malta and since my friend travels a lot for work, she was kind enough to get me this light brown stole from abroad! I love her! I can't wait for the weather to get cold. I know I'm going to wear this so often :)
Cobalt Blue Blazer, 25.99 from Bershka
I can never have to many umbrellas, or blazers if that matter. When I sorted out my wardrobe recently, I noticed that my blazer collection lacked a bright blue one. In order to make amends to this horrifying situation, I headed to Bershka and bought this cobalt blue blazer for a very good price. I don't mind splurging on blazers and jackets, and if they look this good and retail for such a good price, then I can't leave it in the shop. Welcome home badass blazer!
Cross Ring from eBay, Snake Ring, 1.99 from Shana and Cuff Bracelet, 2.99 from Shana
I'm more into gold jewellery, but for some obscure reason, all my recent jewellery buys are in silver. Oh well, variety is the spice of life, right? I finally found a great two-finger cross ring on eBay. God only knows how much I've been looking for one like that! The snake ring is one of my current favourites because it's so cool, especially with silver nailpolish! Last but not least, meet my cuff bracelet. It's such a pain to put it on and take it off, but it looks so bloody good on, so it's definitely worth the effort!
I hope you like my recent purchases and if you have any questions regarding any of them (or anything else really), just let me know!
