I was kindly invited to the Artigli launch at The Plaza Sliema yesterday, so I put on my favourite blazer and headed to the new store on the third floor.
Artigli is an Italian brand, catering for the 'trendy and anti-conformist' woman. The brand was originally available in Gozo, yet, starting from today, the collection is also available here in Malta as well. Before yesterday's launch, I had heard a couple of things about Artigli from some of my friends. In a few words, they all said that you either really liked the brand, or else you completely disliked it. I admit I was eager to see whether this was true.

At The Launch
After quite a bit of waiting, we were finally let into the store and I was thus able to form my own opinion on the collection. As I said already, Artigli is an Italian brand, and since I'm more into British and French fashion houses, I found that this collection is quite far from my own personal style. My biggest reservation with this particular collection is that it had too many details for my liking. I also found that the sizes were slightly misleading, so I suggest shopping for the fit rather than hunting for your size.

Rawr!
However, having said all of that, there were many people at the launch raiding the racks and making quite a good number of purchases. This means they like it, or at least, that's what I assume! I believe that confirms what my friends told me before the launch: you either love it or not. Price-wise, the collection was a bit more expensive than I thought it would be, but I guess that's the price you have to pay if you want to own an Artigli piece.

I have a thing for Gold Hangers
What I really liked, apart from the gold hangers, was the variety of items in the collection. They do blazers, dresses, bags, jackets and all that jazz, meaning that loyal clients have the opportunity to build an entire Artigli wardrobe if they desire to do so! I've selected a handful of more 'classic' pieces that I did like to share with you all.

Very, very Lagerfeld
First off, is this cropped tweed-like jacket in grey and black. By now, you might be able to tell why I liked this particular number. It is, in essence, a very Chanel-like piece. As one of the other attendees yesterday told me, if Karl Lagerfeld saw this piece, he would nod in agreement. I can't help but agree. Though it is very detailed, I would still love to own this piece.

Sheer Shirt
I spotted this floral material immediately upon walking into the store. This pattern was indeed used for a number of items in this collection, including a sheer shirt which I particularly fancied. Paired with a plain pair of trousers, that shirt would look divine, for shizzle.

One of the AMAZING bags
Last, but definitely not least, I feel I must absolutely mention the good selection of bags in this collection. Before attending the launch, I heard many people praise their bags and they were indeed right. After seeing them with my own eyes, I confirm all the hype behind them. They seem to be really good quality bags and they would generally be a good investment purchase!
At the end of the event, all guests received a goodie bag, but since I'm an unlucky woman, I only got a catalogue in mine. Or did that happen to everyone? I'm not sure about that, oh well.
I invite you to visit the new Artigli store at The Plaza in Sliema, and let me know what your first impressions were!
