Since most of you readers are University or College students and you'll be back to the books very soon, I decided that I should do a short 'Back to Uni/College' series with some style tips and tricks.
I've been a student for most of my life so I understand how hard it can be to find a good bag to carry around college or university. Let's face it, it's a headache. When I was in college, my choice was pretty simple. I simply bought the latest model from the Converse collection. I was obsessed with Converse back in the day. Then, when I became intelligent enough to attend University, my 'bag routine' changed completely. I can't say I had a specific bag I always used for Uni. I tended to change it every single day to match my outfit.
This is one thing you really have to take into consideration when buying your 'school bag': will you use it every day or will change it sometimes? Well, if you gave a positive answer to the first part of the question, then I definitely suggest getting a bag in a neutral colour, like black or brown. Don't buy white, never. If you want to be extra-precise, think about your shoes and the shoe colour you tend to opt for most. Pretty easy, really. Obviously, you can buy an orange bag or a bright green bag if you want to. But remember, it won't match everything - or nearly everything - in your wardrobe! If you don't mind that, however, go for it!This suggestion is the most obvious thing since *insert obvious thing here*, but I'm going to mention it anyway. How much stuff do you want to carry around with you? As a seasoned student, I know we tend to carry a lot more than we need in our school bags. Books, lunches, pencils and a couple of other random things we never use take up a lot of place, so having a big bag definitely makes our life much easier. I can honestly tell you that you'll definitely end up having more things in your bag than you initially plan to have, so think big, as always.
There's nothing as embarrassing as having your bag rip apart because it's too heavy. Trust me, I know. Make sure your bag is sturdy enough to carry all of your stuff in it. Check the material and, most of all, the handles. Preferably handles should be made out of a stronger and sturdier material than the rest of the bag because they're going to be carrying most of the weight.
So, up to now, I've mentioned three important things: colour, size and strength. But there's one other thing I must discuss, probably the most relevant of all, style! Who wants a big, strong, neutral bag if it looks like poo? Face it, if you're reading this post, you probably want a stylish bag and there's nothing wrong with that, believe me.
Undoubtedly, my idea of a stylish school bag is the satchel. They are the perfect bag for long, rainy university days. They're usually quite large, they have good handles and an adjustable strap, and they come in a variety of colours too. Oh, and to top it off, they give an impeccable vintage feel to any outfit. I've picked some satchels for you readers, which I'm posting down below.

Satchels are love, but doctor bags are sex. Sorry for being so explicit, but doctor bags are an amazing combination of edginess and class. Seriously, as cool as my socks. They're very, very strong since most of them come with a very sturdy frame. I'm currently freaking out because I don't own one at the moment, so I might get one of these doctor bags from Topshop.

I left the best for last. If there's one thing that's trending at the moment, it's backpacks. I have a feeling that it was Lady Gaga to bring backpacks back, but irrespectively of what triggered their comeback, they're here and they're rockin. Admit it, there's nothing that says 'I'm going to school' as a backpack. You know you want one.
